  • Power of Resetting

We live very busy lives.  We are raising families, working, going to school, running a business, and possibly doing multiple things at once.  Days when they all look the same, an overload of work that is overwhelming, and you could feel like you’re burning out.  You  are not alone, and I am here to offer some tools to put in place when you just need a quick reset.  I will introduce some techniques you can incorporate into your daily self-care routine.

We cannot always get away on vacation, take a day off, or afford to go to the spa.  Let’s give our mind and body some time to shift out of go or survival mode, and a moment to just stop, breathe, slow down, and relish the moment.

Some of the benefits of taking a moment include improved focus, lower stress levels, and a different perspective on a situation.

Let’s try this five-minute reset option:

    • Take some slow, deep breaths by inhaling for 5 seconds, then exhaling for 5.
    • Another option is to breathe in as you inhale, tense your body up, and as you exhale, release the tension in your body
    • Take a minute to notice how you’re feeling physically, mentally,  and emotionally without too much of a thought process.
    • Stretch, walk, or simply allow your body to relax from head to toe.

Ask yourself what I need now.  Maybe treat yourself to a healthy snack, some hot tea, or maybe just a minute of quiet time. Choose something that represents what you need at that moment.  A reset does not have to look any particular way.  It’s about what resonates for you in your time of need.  Remain present in that moment.

We might not have 30 minutes, an hour, or a day, but we can spare five minutes to reconnect with ourselves.
